We take your child's security very seriously. Our Nursery area is a very secure place!
- Anyone who enters must show our security monitor a security card.
- Visitors may obtain a temporary card at our front desk. This card has a number on it that will be yours and yours alone for the day.
- If a challenge comes up with your child, we will put that number on our monitors and ask that you come back to our department and help us.
- You are encouraged to fill out a form for a permanent number. These are sent to you within a couple of weeks of application. You will then have a card for quicker access to the nursery area.
- The parent must show the security card to the Security Desk attendant to enter our part of the “House”. We cannot let siblings under the age of 18 drop off or pick up your child.
- Upon arrival at the child’s room, a parent must sign the child in on the form located at the door of each room. Please sign the child in each time you use the nursery, and fill out all portions of the sign-in sheet.
- Please make your goodbyes quick. You are more than welcome to watch your child through the one-way glass, but we ask, for the safety of all the children, that you not open the door at any time or go into the room.
- If your child should need the you, the number located on the back of the yellow security card will appear on the security call system monitor in the Sanctuary.
The monitors in the Sanctuary are located on the walls below the projection of the service
If you are in a Sunday School Class, the Nursery Director will come tell you
- The security card MUST be presented to the teacher every time the child is picked up from the nursery. Older siblings are NOT allowed to pick up babies. Another adult may pick up your child if he/she has the correct security card.
- Please pick your child up immediately following each service. Children look for parents when they know it is time to leave and often feel panic when other parents have arrived and theirs haven't.
Background Checks
All of our staff has undergone an interview process, an application process and nationwide background check. This is all done in an effort to maximize the safety factor for your baby.
All our volunteers have been screened and gone through much of the same process. We love to have parents volunteer in our nursery. If you would be interested, please see the Director for an application.
NOTE: When you bring your baby to our part of the House, you are welcome to view the interaction between the teachers and the children, or just watch your child play through the one-way glass windows. (Because it’s so much fun, we watch all the time!) But, because of our security and background procedures, we are not able to allow parents to enter the rooms until they have undergone our processing. Thanks for adhering to this important procedure.
